Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the chairman of International Petroleum Investment Company and member of Abu Dhabi’s ruling family, has shelled out $5.8 million to the American recording artists Jay-Z and Kanye West for performance duties at his niece’s 16th birthday party in mid-December.
The duo, who have recently recorded and toured together, were flown to Dubai for the event and performed several sets over the course of the party. Considering Sheikh Mansour’s penchant for spending big on his Manchester City Football Club, it probably should not come as a surprise that the gift was so lavish.
